Fall Discovery Camps

Registration for Fall and Winter camps will open October 1.
Registration for Spring and Summer camps will open February 10 for Supporting Level Members and February 17 for the general public.

Veterans Day Camp: Fort Building

November 11
Full day only, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*
 
Ages 4 – 8
Supporting Family Members $100; General $125

Join us for our first ever one-day Fort Building camp. Children will take initiative as they work together for one day to conceptualize, design and execute their very own creative structures. Using various materials, campers will tap into their imagination, innovation and ingenuity to transform the classroom into their very own hide-away, and build smaller-scale structures using wood, hammers and nails to create take home projects.

Thanksgiving Break Camp: On the Bay

November 24 – 26
Full day only, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*
Ages 4 – 8
Supporting Family Members $290; General $315

Investigate local animals and search the shores for hidden treasures in this signature Museum camp. Take on the persona of bugs, fish, plants and birds, and explore the natural bay environments through hiking, experiments and hands-on discovery.

Winter Break Camp: two options


Art Attack
December 22 & 23
Full day only, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*

Supporting Family Members $210; General $235

Explore your artistic potential and express yourself through paint, sculpture, nature objects, recycled materials and our very popular messy art curriculum. Each day focuses on introducing new techniques and exploration of a variety of fun, basic media. Children in this camp will explore the artistic process no matter how messy they may get — and they do get messy!

Shipwrecks and Treasure Hunts
December 29 & 30
Full day only, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*
Ages 4–8
Supporting Family Members $210; General $235

Ahoy ye scurvy landlubbers! Experience the delights and hardships of a seafaring life. Make maps, sing chanteys, dig for artifacts and treasures from mysterious lands, and discover weird sea creatures. Spend two days pretending to be sailors embarking on a historic voyage of discovery and adventure.

February Break Camp: two options


Imaginary Worlds: Witches, Wizards, Knights and Princesses 
February 16 – 20
Full day only, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*

Dragons, mermaids, unicorns and kings are welcome, too. Imagination rules in this camp for fairy tale fanatics of all stripes. Children will weave a tale around characters they create. Using an interdisciplinary approach, each camper will explore art as they set the scene for their original production and make their own costumes, learn science while making potions and build confidence as they act out their own character.
