Scholarships
Scholarship visits to the Bay Area Discovery Museum are available from October 1 through February 29.
Admission Scholarships
The Museum’s admission scholarship program offers reduced-price visits for schools serving a population where 75% or more of the students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Applications for admission scholarships are accepted from September 4 to February 29.
Bus Scholarships
Scholarships are also available for bus transportation to and from the Museum for schools that serve a population where 90% or more qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. To accommodate as many schools as possible, schools are limited to two free buses per year. Buses may carry more than one class – please coordinate visits to take full advantage. Preference will be given to schools that did not receive a bus scholarship last year.
Bus scholarship applications are accepted beginning on September 17.

Fee Schedule
Minimum 10 students, maximum 80 students
October – February: $3 per student (scholarship: $1 per student)
March – May: $5 per student (no scholarships available)
One chaperone is admitted free for every five children. Additional chaperones pay the student rate as listed above. Please note: adults required to serve students with special needs are always admitted free.
School groups paying full price can register online beginning September 4. Groups wishing to apply for a scholarship should download the application form and fax or mail it to us. Download scholarship application form (PDF)
