General Info
Address: Bay Area Discovery Museum, Fort Baker, 557 McReynolds Road, Sausalito, CA, 94965. Open Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $8 per child, $10 per adult person – free for members and children under 1 year old. The Museum offers free admission on the first Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Present Location
Nestled at the foot of the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Museum is situated on 7.5-acres of National Park land in Fort Baker. The Museum occupies nine restored, historic buildings originally built by the U.S. Army between 1903 and 1905. As a result of the excellent restoration of the site, the Museum received an award in 1992 from the President’s Council on Historic Preservation.

The Museum raises its $4.1 million budget through memberships, admission fees and gifts from Bay Area families as well as local and national foundations and corporations.

Over 300,000 Bay Area children, families, school groups and teachers annually visit the Museum.
